Assigning students to programs

Before you can assign students to programs, they must be enrolled in the school that offers the program.

Note: If the program controls enrollment and you select the program when you enroll the student in the school, the student is automatically assigned to the program when they are enrolled in the school. For more information, see Enrolling students in schools with controlled enrollment [>>].

If a program does not control enrollment, once the student is enrolled in the school that offers the program and after the student applies for, is eligible, and is offered a position in the program, you can assign them a position in the program. For more information about applying to programs, see Applying to programs [>>].

To assign students to programs:You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]You can do this if your role is School Administrator.[SA]

In the Programs menu, click Manage Programs. The Program Search page appears.

Search for and select the program session you want to assign students to.

From the Actions menu, click Manage Queues & Applicants. The Manage Queue page appears.

Under Queues, in the # Applications column, click the number corresponding to the queue you want to assign students from. The Manage Applicants page appears [Figure 112].

Under Applicants, select one or more students that you want to assign to the program [Figure 112]. Note: If you need to calculate the students' eligibility, see Calculating student eligibility [>>].

From the Actions menu, click Assign to Program. The Assign to Program page appears.

Enter the Effective Date and any needed overrides [Figure 113].

Click OK.

Note: When students are accepted into a program, they are removed from all queues they were assigned to for that program.

If the student does not meet all the eligibility criteria or the program capacity has been reached, additional fields are available to allow you to enroll the student in the program if you have the required permissions.
