Customizing reports

You can customize any of the reports available in PowerSchool SMS [>>]. Each report is defined by a report file (which has the file extension ".rpt") stored in the system. Customizing a report involves downloading the report from the system, editing the report using the third-party report-editing tool Crystal Reports, then uploading the customized report. This process replaces the old report file with a new file, which is stored in the system until you customize it further. A PowerSchool SMS system contains two types of reports, each of which you customize differently: package reports [>>] and built-in [>>].
