District Setup record types

This section covers the record types that are accessed through the District Setup.

Record Type	Used to Import
Address Ranges [>>]	Address range data to be used to validate student addresses.
District Courses [>>]	All secondary courses in the district. Note: Only secondary courses can be imported. You cannot currently import elementary subjects.
Setup Lists [>>]	Core and custom setup list data. You can add new items to any setup list, including: = core (or built-in) Setup Lists = Setup Lists created using Custom Data Management (CDM) For information about CDM, see cTools Client Validation Guide. = You must import items into one setup list at a time. Each setup list requires a separate template. = You cannot update existing items in Setup Lists. You can only add items. = You cannot import entirely new lists. You must create a setup list in PowerSchool SMS before you can import items into it.
Staff [>>]	Staff names and their login IDs, passwords, and roles. Note: You can import only actual teachers, not the placeholder teachers that are part of secondary scheduling.

You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]

Note: To access Address Range pages, on the General Preferences page, under Address Validation, ensure Use Address Validation is selected.

To navigate to the location of the fields covered by this record type:

In the Admin menu, click District Setup.The District Setup page appears.

Under District, click Address Validation Setup. The Address Validation Setup page appears.

Under Step 4, click Address Ranges. The Address Ranges page appears.

Click Add Address Range from the Actions menu or click the link for one of the records.

District Courses

You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]

In the Admin menu, click District Setup.The District Setup page appears.

Under District, click Course Catalog. The Course Catalog page appears.

Under Step 3, click Courses. The Course List page appears.

Click the link for a setup list item.

Click Add Course or click the link for one of the courses.

Click the link for a setup list. The Setup List Items dialog appears.

Click the link for a setup list item.

Note: Each new setup list has an associated schema and table. The location in which this data is stored will change based on the setup list(s) you are importing.

The Staff record type affects two types of records: staff records and user accounts

To navigate to the location of the staff record fields covered by this record type:

Under District, click Staff. The Staff List page appears.

Click Add Staff Member or click the link for one of the records.

To navigate to the location of the user account fields covered by this record type:

In the Admin menu, click District Setup.The District Setup page appears.

Under Users, click Accounts. The Accounts page appears.

Click Add User or click the link for one of the records.
