View batch address validation results

PowerSchool SMS alerts you when a batch address validation you have run is complete. The batch address validation alert displays information about address and boundary validations for your school or for the district.

When a validation is complete, the Alert icon () appears in the task bar. Click the icon to open the alert. If errors have occurred during the validation, you can navigate to information about the errors from the Alert message [Figure 165] by clicking View validation error details. This link provides access to the validation error log [Figure 167]. The error log contains validation details, such as the name of the student, the address used for the validation, and a description of any errors.

Batch address validation results appear on the Batch Google Maps Address Validation page [Figure 166]. This page enables you to view a summary of the validation results and provides access to a batch address validation error log [Figure 167].

You can view the progress of a batch address validation while it's running, and then view the final results.

To view batch address validation results:You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]You can do this if your role is School Administrator.[SA]

In the Admin menu, click District Setup. The District Setup page appears.

Under District, click Batch Google Maps Address Validation. The District Setup page appears.

Review address validation information [Figure 166].

Log ID - Click the link to view the details of the validation.

Validation Process Time - The date and the time the validation started and ended.

Status - The status of the validation: Pending, Started, Completed, or Failed.

Calendar To Use - The calendar in which student addresses were validated: Active or Planning.

Validations - Indicates whether the validation was an address or boundary validation.

=

Address To Validate - Indicates which addresses were validated: All or ones that were not validated.

Address Type To Validate - Indicates which type of addresses were validated: physical addresses, mailing addresses, or both.

Update Addresses - Indicates whether the city, state, country, and zip code were updated during the validation.

Boundaries To Validate -Indicates whether the addresses were checked against the boundaries for the district, student's home school, or school of enrollment.

Records Processed - Displays the number of schools against which student addresses were validated, indicates the number of addresses and boundaries validated, and indicates the number of errors that occurred during the validation.

Working with batch validation errors:You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]You can do this if your role is School Administrator.[SA]

After running batch validation, you can resolve the issue, change the status, or delete the entries.

In the Log ID column [Figure 166], click the link for the batch address validation you want to review. The Validation Details page appears.

To delete a resolved error or any validation result, select the log entry you want to delete and click Delete [Figure 167].

Status - Possible statuses are:

Pending: The validation has not started.

Started: The validation has started, but has not completed.

Completed: The validation has completed successfully.

Failed: The validation was unable to complete. Contact technical support [>>] for help resolving the error.

Note: You may have to click Refresh to view updated statuses.

Address To Validate - Indicates which addresses were validated:

All: Indicates the user selected the option to validate all addresses, including those that have previously been validated and to which latitudes and longitudes have been assigned by Google Maps.

Not Validated: Indicates the user selected the option to validate addresses that have never been validated. These are addresses to which Google Maps has not assigned a latitude and longitude.

Records Processed - Lists the number of schools against which student addresses were validated, indicates the number of addresses and boundaries validated, and indicates the number of errors that occurred during the validation.
