Student Behavior permissions

Permissions in this category pertain to recording student behavior incidents [>>]. These permissions include:

= Academic Category Severity permission [>>]

Academic Category Severity permission

This permission controls the user’s ability to work with student behavior incidents [>>] associated with the security classification "Academic Category". PowerSchool SMS provides one permission for each severity level: High, Medium, and Low. An incident’s security classification is determined by the Behavior Security field in the "Behavior Incident and Event/Concern" setup list.

Dependencies: None

Settings:

= Delete: The user can work with behavior incidents associated with the security classification "Academic Category".
= Edit: Same as Delete.
= View: The user can view but not change behavior incidents associated with the security classification "Academic Category".
= None: The user is unable to work with behavior incidents associated with the security classification "Academic Category".

= School Administrator: Edit
= School Counselor: Edit
= School Secretary: None
= Teacher: Edit

Attendance Category Severity permission

This permission controls the user’s ability to work with student behavior incidents [>>] associated with the security classification "Attendance Category". PowerSchool SMS provides one permission for each severity level: High, Medium, and Low. An incident’s security classification is determined by the Behavior Security field in the "Behavior Incident and Event/Concern" setup list .

= Delete: The user can work with behavior incidents associated with the security classification "Attendance Category".
= Edit: Same as Delete.
= View: The user can view but not change behavior incidents associated with the security classification "Attendance Category".

The user’s ability to work with a behavior incident may be limited by other behavior-related permissions, including:

= Academic Category Severity permission [>>]
= Attendance Category Severity permission [>>]
= Behavior Category 1 Severity permission [>>]
= Discipline Category Severity permission [>>]
= Non-Discipline Category Severity permission [>>]

Settings:

= Yes: The user is able to work with behavior incidents recorded at any district school.
= No: The user is able to work with behavior incidents at his or her school.

Discipline Category Severity permission

This permission controls the user’s ability to work with student behavior incidents [>>] associated with the security classification "Discipline Category". PowerSchool SMS provides one permission for each severity level: High, Medium, and Low. An incident’s security classification is determined by the Behavior Security field in the "Behavior Incident and Event/Concern" setup list .

Override Student Behavior Enrollment permission

This permission controls the user’s ability to enroll a student [>>] who is subject to student behavior [>>] enrollment restrictions.

= Yes: The user is able to enroll a student who is subject to student behavior enrollment restrictions.
= No: The user is able to enroll a student who is not subject to student behavior restrictions.

Student Behavior Preferences permission

This permission controls the user’s ability to set preferences for student behavior records for the district [see Student behavior setup >>]. Such preferences include specifying the student behavior [>>] records that can be viewed by users at the receiving school when a student transfers from one district school to another,.

Settings:

= Delete: The user can change Student Behavior Preferences.
= Edit: Same as Delete.
= View: The user can view but not change Student Behavior Preferences.
