Building Student Resilience in Trauma-Responsive Classrooms

A key element of a successful school involves equipping staff with a foundational knowledge of childhood trauma, its impact, and what it means to practice trauma-informed care. During this transformational session, leaders and teachers will be empowered as agents of change as they shift their student behavior lens from, ?What?s wrong with this student?? to ?What?s happened to this student?? Supporting educators with intentional and thoughtful instructional coaching can increase student learning. This session will allow participants to experience and practice evidence-based coaching moves. Using Differentiated Instruction to Ensure Students Succeed

Differentiation is an important component of every classroom, but it can also feel overwhelming for many teachers. This session will help participants grow their understanding of what differentiated instruction is (and is not). Using educational research and practical examples, this session will allow participants to examine how teachers can differentiate content (input), process (sense-making), and product (output) in a manageable way so teachers and students can both thrive. *Eligible for CEUs when attending a trainer-led session.

Writing High Quality ACT-Aligned Items

While the instructional program highlights the instruction of state standards, we can easily understand the importance of matching those to ACT standards for understanding students? progress toward benchmark. In this workshop-style setting, we explore the identification of essential state standards for assessment and map those to ACT benchmark standards. Specifically, we will see the relationship between state essential standards and the expected competencies of students who attain benchmark-level performance on the ACT. *Eligible for CEUs when attending a trainer-led session.
