This section contains information about the installation and configuration of SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2012 on a Database Server, which is an essential component of a PowerSchool SMS system.
Notes:
| = | The Database Server can be the same server as that on which PowerSchool SMS is installed. |
| = | When installing SQL Server 2008, use a dedicated domain account for Services. |
| = | If you are using a PowerSchool SMS version that is prior to version 6.7.3, and you want to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 or 2012 at the same time that you upgrade to PowerSchool SMS 8.4.3, please contact Technical Support [see >>] |
Important: PowerSchool SMS runs on SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2012. If a system employs SQL Server 2000 or 2005, you must uninstall that version of SQL Server and install SQL Server 2008 or 2012 before you can install PowerSchool SMS 8.4.3.
