Setting up IIS for Windows Server

For a server running Windows Server 2008 or 2012, the administrator must configure IIS compatibility.

To set up IIS for Windows Server 2008 or 2012:

On the Web Server, from the Start menu, click Administrative Tools > Server Manager. The Server Manager window appears.

In the left-hand pane, expand Roles and click Web Server (IIS). The Web Server (IIS) pane appears.

Scroll to the Role Services section and click Add Role Services. The Add Role Services dialog appears.

Select Application Development and ensure the following options are selected:

=

.NET Extensibility

=

ASP

=

CGI

=

Server Side Includes

Under Management Tools, select IIS 6 Management Compatibility.

Click Next. The Confirm Installation Selection dialog appears.

Click Install. The Results page appears.

Click Close.
