Installing Microsoft .Net Framework on a server
Installation of PowerSchool SMS 8.4.3 web and database installers requires the full version of .NET Framework 4.5. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 and follow the download instructions. Important: .NET Framework 4.5 must be installed on both the PowerSchool SMS database server and the web server. You must set up Application and Web server roles for .NET Framework on the database server and the web server.

On the database server, from the Start menu, click Administrative Tools > Server Manager. The Server Manager window appears. |

In the left-hand pane, click Roles. The Roles pane appears. |

Click Add Roles. The "Before You Begin" dialog appears. |

Click Next. The "Select Server Roles" dialog appears. |

Select Application Server, and then click Add Required Features. The "Select Server Roles" dialog reappears. |

Click Next.The "Application Server" dialog appears. |

Click Next. The "Select Server Roles" dialog reappears, with .NET Framework 4.0 selected. |

Select Web Server (IIS) and then click Add Required Role Services. |

Click Next. The "Web Server (IIS)" dialog appears. |

Click Next. The "Select Role Services" dialog reappears. |

Scroll down the list of Role Services and select IIS 6 Management Compatibility. |

Click Next. The "Confirmation Installation Selections" dialog appears. |
