Setting up health examinations

Create compliance rules for students to have health examinations. PowerSchool SMS checks the students’ birthdates, current age, or grade level to determine which examinations the student should have received. For example, you may want to create rules for the following types of health examinations:

Adding health examination rules

Before you set up health examination requirements and recommendations, make sure you create the health examination Setup Lists. For more information about Setup Lists, see Ensure consistent data [>>].

To add a health examination rule:You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]

In the Admin menu, click District Setup. The District Setup page appears.

Under Preferences, click Health. The Health Preferences page appears.

In the control bar, click Examination Setup. The Examination Setup page appears [Figure 351].

From the Exam Type dropdown, select the type of health examination for which you want to define requirements and recommendations.

Under Rules,to add a health examination rule, click Add. The Add Examination Rule dialog appears [Figure 352].

To edit a health examination rule, click the rule number. The Edit Examination Rule dialog appears.

To delete a health examination rule, select the rule you want to delete and click Delete. Skip the remaining steps.

Choose one of the following and enter or select the appropriate information:

All Students in category___

All students entering grade <grade level> or age is ___ months/years:

Age is at least ___ months/years and under ___ months/years

Age is under/at least ___ months/years

=

Grade is at least <grade level> up to and including <grade level>

Grade is under/at least <grade level>

Click OK.
