Backing up the database

You can make a backup of the PowerSchool SMS system's database and set up PowerSchool SMS to back up the database automatically at regular intervals, such as nightly six days a week, or make the backup manually at any time [see Backing up the PowerSchool SMS database >>]. We highly recommend making a backup copy of your PowerSchool SMS database. While making a database backup, we recommend also backing up the historical database.
