PowerSchool SMS 8.0 is compatible with SQL Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2 64-bit or R2 64-bit). If you are using a PowerSchool SMS version that is prior to version 6.7.3, and you want to upgrade to SQL Server 2008 SP2 or R2 at the same time that you upgrade to PowerSchool SMS 8.0, you must first upgrade to PowerSchool SMS 6.7.3, then install SQL Server 2008, before you upgrade to PowerSchool SMS 8.0.
