Julie Davis was enrolled in elementary school several years ago
and is now re-enrolling in the district as a 9th grader.
No matter how long Julie has been away, there is no need to create a new record in PowerSchool.
You can just reactivate her old record.
But you don’t want to activate her record at the Elementary school.
Instead, transfer Julie’s record to the high school. Sound simple? It is!
Before you search for Julie, verify that you have the elementary school active.
Julie was deactivated at the elementary school, so her record has remained there all these years.
Now locate the student.
Searching for Julie's student record using only her name will not work.
You need a very important tool: the forward slash,
which instructs PowerSchool to search for active AND inactive students.
Use the forward slash before the student’s name in the Search field.
Type /Davis, Julie into the Search Students field on the Start Page and press Enter.
The student pages for Julie appear.
Now it’s time to actually transfer Julie’s records to the high school.
Click Functions under the Enrollment section in the list of links on the left.
Another list of links will appear; click Transfer to Another School.
The “Transfer to Another School” screen is very simple.
From the “To which school?” menu,
choose the school where the student will be enrolling, and click Submit.
PowerSchool confirms that the transfer was successful.
Now Julie’s records are associated with Apple Grove High School
and office staff can enroll her and get her set up with classes.
Transfer a student to another school in a few short steps.
Search for the student record,
click Functions from the left-side menu,
select Transfer to Another School,
choose the school, and click Submit.
Thank you!
