Installing critical operating system updates

After Windows Server installation, check for and install all critical updates, patches, service packs, and hot fixes available from Microsoft for the Windows operating system in use.

To install critical updates on a server:

On the server, open a web browser.

Go to the URL: http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate.

Follow the on-screen instructions to scan for and install critical updates.
