Grade level setup

The District Administrator specifies the grade levels taught at district schools. A School Administrator chooses from grade levels provided by the district [Grade level selection >>]. While the District Administrator can choose any name for a grade level, typical grade levels include:

For example, an elementary School Administrator, might choose the following: KA, KP, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and PE. A secondary School Administrator might choose 9, 10, 11, 12, and PE.

Caution: If you remove a grade level from the district, information in the Active Calendar could be lost. Ensure modifications to grade levels are made only in the Planning Calendar.

To set up grade levels for the district: You can do this if your role is District Administrator.[DA]

In the Admin menu, click District Setup. The District Setup page appears.

Under District, click Grade Levels. The Grade Levels page appears.

Enter information, which includes:

Short code: The code used throughout the system to indicate the grade level. For example, "KP" for Kindergarten-PM or "9" for grade level 9.

Description: A brief explanation of the grade level, such as "Grade 7" or "Pre-Kindergarten".

State Code: The code assigned to the grade level by the state.

State Description: The description assigned to the grade level by the state.

Click Save.

Grade level selection

As a School Administrator, select the grade levels for your school.

To choose the grade levels to use in your school: You can do this if your role is School Administrator.[SA]

In the Admin menu, click School Setup. The School Setup page appears.

Under School, click Grade Levels (setup list). The Grade Levels page appears with a list of grade levels available for use in the school.

In the Use column, select the check boxes of the desired grade levels.

Click OK.
