Enable the MSDTC service

On a system that uses PowerTeacher gradebook or ParentCONNECTxp, enable the Windows Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) service on each Database Server.

To enable MSDTC service on the database servers:

1 Open Server Manager.
2 Expand Roles and click Application Server.
3 On the right side of your screen, click Add Role Service.
4 Select the following role services:
= Application Server Foundation
= Web Server IIS Support
= HTTP Activation

Note: If Distributed Transactions (Incoming/Outgoing Remote) is not installed, you must install the Distributed Transaction Role Service by expanding Distributed Transactions and selecting Incoming Remote Transactions and Outgoing Remote Transactions.

5 Click Next, Install, and then Close.
6 Expand Roles > Application Server > Component Services > Distributed Transactions.
7 Right-click Local DTC and click Properties.
8 Select the following properties:
= Network DTC Access
= Under Transaction Manager Communication:
= Allow Inbound
= Allow Outbound
= No Authentication Required
9 Click OK.
