Changing the PowerSchool SMS eDocs location
A system user has access to comprehensive PowerSchool SMS documentation (named PowerSchool SMS eDocs) through the Help menu on any page [see >>]. The user's web browser displays the eDocs, which are hosted on https://support.powerschool.com. Here, we constantly updates the PowerSchool SMS eDocs with the latest information. If system users do not have access to the support site, the system administrator can redirect the Help menu to a local, server-based copy of the PowerSchool SMS eDocs. The administrator must make this change on each system server each time PowerSchool SMS is installed or upgraded.

Using a text editor, open the file "Inetpub\wwwroot\PowerSchoolSMS\web.config". |

Locate the section "eDoc connection". |

In this section, locate the line that begins with <add key="eDocURLValue" value=. |
|

In this line, change the value to "http://<your server name>/PowerSchoolSMS/Help". |

For example, <add key="eDocURLValue" value="http://Grandedistrictserver.com/PowerSchoolSMS/Help". |

Save the web.config file. |

From the Windows Start menu, click Run. The Run dialog appears. |

For Open, type "regedit" and click OK. The Registry Editor window opens. |

Expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Chancery Software Ltd.\Open District\Web Client\". |

In the right pane, double-click "eDocURL" and change the path for Value data to "http://<your server name>/PowerSchoolSMS/Help/<version number>". |

<version number> is the number of the PowerSchool SMS version currently installed; for example, "730" or "731". |

Close the Registry Editor. |
