Installing Windows components for IIS
On a Web/Application Server running Windows Server 2003, the administrator must ensure that the Windows components necessary to run the Internet Information Server (IIS) service are installed and configured. For a server running Windows Server 2008, refer to IIS setup for Windows Server 2008 [>>].

On the Web Server, from the Start menu, click Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. |

In the sidebar, click Add/Remove Windows Components. |

Deselect then reselect Application Server. Click Details. |

Ensure the following options are selected: |

Application Server Console
|
|

|
Enable network COM+ access
|
|
=
|
Internet Information Services (IIS)
|
|

Select Internet Information Services (IIS) and click No on the dialog. Click Details. |

Ensure the following are selected: |

|
Internet Information Services Manager
|
|

Deselect then reselect World Wide Web Service. Click Details. |

Internet Data Connector
|
|

Click OK until you are back at the Windows Component dialog. Click Next. |

If you are prompted to install Windows 2003, do the following: |

Click OK, and then insert the Windows 2003 CD or enter the path for the location of the Windows 2003 files. |

Click OK. Click Finish. |
