Editing Assignments
You recently assigned a new Evolution Essay project to your biology students and added the assignment in your gradebook. However, the assignment has proven to be more difficult and research-intensive for students to complete than you had planned originally. So, you decide to increase the points possible for the essay from 20 to 40 points.
To make the change, edit the assignment details directly from the Scoresheet. Double-click the assignment heading for the essay project.
Click the right arrow to continue.
The assignment details appear in the lower pane of the Scoresheet.
To increase the points possible for this assignment, change the value from 20 to 40.
Then click Save.
Since you already entered point scores for the assignment, an alert window appears, indicating that the points possible for the assignment has changed.
At this point, you can keep the points you entered previously, or you can adjust the scores to align with the new points possible value.
Change the existing scores to match the new points possible by clicking Adjust Scores.
After the gradebook recalculates the assignment scores, close the assignment pane.
The scores that students earned on the essay project are adjusted based on the new points possible.

Objective:
Edit a homework assignment so that it is not published or included in final grade calculations.
- Navigate to the Assignments tab.
- Edit the Student Contract assignment by clicking the right-facing arrow.
- Remove this assignment from the final grade calculation.
- Edit the publication status for this assignment.
- Choose to not publish this assignment to the PowerSchool Student and Parent Portals.
- Save your changes to the assignment.
- Navigate to the Scoresheet to view the edited assignment.
- Good job! You edited an assignment that won’t be included in final grade calculations or published—as indicated by the red icon in the assignment heading.
