Copying a Class Description

You teach three sections of general Biology, so it would be nice to use the class description you just created for the other classes. All you have to do is copy and paste the description.

First, copy the text in the Description field: highlight the text and then on a PC, press CTRL + C, or on a Mac, press command + C.

Click the right arrow to continue.

Next, click your second period class in the Classes pane.

When the Class Info page for your second period class opens, you see there is no description for this section.

Paste the description from your first period class into the Description field.

PC users can press CTRL + V and Mac users can press command + V.

To save the description, click Save.

Now, scroll down to learn how to view the class description in the Parent Portal.

Viewing a Class Description in the Student and Parent Portals

Once you add your class description, students and guardians can view the information in the PowerSchool Student and Parent Portals.

Direct your students and their guardians to the Grades and Attendance page. Then, ask them to click one of the grades for your section.

When the Class Score Detail page appears, you can see the class description that you entered, as well as the two website links.

Now when you meet your students’ parents on Back to School Night, you can tell them how to use the PowerSchool Student and Parent Portals to learn more about your classes, and to stay connected with their students’ experiences in school.
